Ok, enough with Manila trip. EveryBody is getting sick of it and before someBody vomit blood, meBody better stop hehe.. The past nine days (since my last entry here) has been quite hectic for me, be it at work or at home. No, I am not complaining, in fact, I am thankful coz that means I am employed and am living my life...to the fullest. The only thing sadden me was that I have to scrapped plan to visit Bali with friends because of work commitment (assigned outstation to Kuantan..again). But hey, there’s always next time right? And to make it up, we’re going to Phuket in June.

Oh ya, remember I mentioned in my previous entry somebody broke in to my apartment and get away with my laptop and digital camera? Guess what..the fellow has returned them back to me..can you believe it? No I’m kidding..hehe. Actually I’ve got myself a new ‘Lappy’ an Acer TM6292 (right after the Manila trip) and a new Canon Ixus 860IS digicam(this one before the Manila trip) I am feeling alive again. Hmm, seems like I still can’t get rid of the word ‘Manila’ ow kan..haha..just bear with me la kio.

Manila Trip - Day 3

I would consider the 3rd day as the highlight of our Manila trip, the day we went for a day trip to Tagaytay, to visit the Taal Volcano. It took about two and a half eventful hours by taxi from Manila to reach there..no thanks to the heavy traffics.

It was already noon when we reach the ‘mini’ resort where we will take a 30 minutes boat ride to the Taal Volcano island. The boat ride was really fun and enjoyable, and the surrounding views were breathtaking. Too bad no pictures taken during the ride as water keep pouring onto us we were all wet wet wet. I was so tempted to take off my shirt and pants hehehe..

Upon reaching Taal Volcano island, we proceeded to the ticketing booth. Negotiate the best price for a horse ride up, made payment, and before I realize, we are already on our way up to the volcano. At that very moment I felt so excited and thrilled at the same time. The 45 minutes horse ride up to the top was really fun-tastic, once in lifetime experience! Owyess..

Reaching the top of Taal Volcano was the climax. Breathtaking views..simply overwhelming. We spent about half an hour cam-whoring cherishing that very moment before receded back to base camp. Another 30 minutes of horse riding, and when we reached down our boat was already there to ferry us back to the main land.

We’re back to the resort, tired & hungry like horse but happy (it was almost 4pm..huhu). Waiting for us was our sumptuous lunch and the chicken ‘adobo’ was yummy. Very yummy indeed we almost finished all the bones..hahaha, kidding.

We make a move back to Manila right after meals. We stopped by Mall of Asia (the mall is so big we only managed to cover like 1/20 of it..will be back again for sure next year), did some shopping, had our dinner at the food court then took taxi back to hotel.

It’s been a long & tiring day but hey..it’s Saturday night! By 9pm we were all ready for our last nite out.. so used to getting intoxicated every weekend she make my heart go hoo hoo hoo :)

For the 3rd consecutive night we came back to hotel room at 4am.. My God!

AF6.. Dah demam?

Untuk Konsert Pertama AF6 Sabtu ini, para pelajar telah diberikan kebebasan sepenuhnya oleh Akademi untuk memilih lagu tugasan mereka sendiri. Wah, ini yang best ni. Pada pendapat saya, pemilihan lagu sendiri oleh para pelajar sangat sesuai untuk konsert sulung nanti, yang mana ini juga merupakan konsert 'terpenting' untuk mereka memperlihatkan kemampuan sebenar mereka. Di konsert yang pertama lah biasanya para penonton pengAFUNDI akan memilih calon atau pun calon-calon 'favourite' mereka.

Tidak akan timbul lagi isu tidak adil, diskriminasi, pilih kasih dan sebagainya atas pemberian lagu kerana para pelajar sendiri diberi kebebasan sepenuhnya untuk menyanyikan lagu pilihan yang sudah pasti mereka rasakan sesuai dengan suara mereka, dan yang paling penting mereka merasa selesa menyampaikannya. Syabas Astro atas 'langkah kanan' ini. You really got this one RIGHT! :) Tidak sabar menunggu konsert sulung nanti..

Manila Trip - Day 2

Magandang umaga! On the 2nd day of Christmas we were off for city tour and shopping. Earlier plan was to go to Taal Volcano in Tagaytay (which is about 2 hours drive away from Manila), but since it was already late 9am when we departed hotel, we have to postponed it to the next day and alter the plan.

We charter a cab and tour around Taguig City where the ‘Libingan Ng Mga Bayani’ (Memorial Cemetery for Filipino men and women who brought honour to the country and fought for the sake of freedom and democracy) and American Memorial Park are located.

Ready to leave for Intramuros

Next we went to Intramuros, the old capital of Manila built in 1571. We visited Manila Cathedral and also Fort Santiago, which used to be the seat of the colonial powers of both Spain and the U.S. It was also a dreaded prison under the Spanish regime and the scene of countless military police atrocities during the Japanes occupation. Here, too, Dr. Jose Rizal spent his last hours before his execution. Didn’t really bother to know much about Jose Rizal before, I was really taken aback by the story and history of the national Hero of the Philippines. Wondering if ever we gonna see another true ‘national hero’ in this modern world, other than the Green Lantern or Incredible Hulk..Hmm, hindi ko alam po.

Our last stop for the day was the GreenHills Shopping Center, a shopping mall where you can find almost everything under one roof at a bargain price. Unfortunately we don’t have the whole day to shop plus tiredness started to get the better of us (we slept at 5am last night remember..). I only managed to buy two barongs and a Polo shirt for my nephew. Feeling hungry, we took quick dinner at food court nearby and get a taxi back to hotel. What a day trip it was.

We were back to hotel in the evening and after shower, we were all geared up for another night out. And you bet it’s gonna be another blast-off since it was Friday Night..woohoo!! So off we go to Malate again. So what happened next for the rest of the night? I leave it to your wildest imagination hahahaha.. just for the record, we went back home quite early that nite..yes, early morning at 4am. Ehem ehemm… :)
