It’s May 31 today, and it marks the end of a month long celebration of ‘Pesta Kaamatan’ state wide in Land below the Wind, Sabah. I believe many of you, not only those in Sabah but also those residing in the Peninsular Malaysia have attended a ‘Pesta Kaamatan’ celebration at least once this year. Tidak kira la peringkat kampung ka, peringkat mukim ka atau pun peringkat daerah. As for me, i've got the chance to attend the Klang Valley’s Harvest Festival celebration held in Flamingo Hotel at Jalan Ampang. But i will definitely miss the National Level ‘Harvest Festival’ to be held in Pusat Kebudayaan Penampang, Sabah..which is also the pinnacle of this month long festival.
People of Sabah are surely having a great time as 30th & 31st of May are public holidays..which means a long weekend in store for them..huh jelesnya bestnya.. So whatever it is you are planning to do during the long break, at least do not ever forget the essence of this unique annual cultural celebration which is to honour the Spirit of Rice, the Bambaazon or Bambarayon and to give thanks to God for yet another bountiful year.
So before semua urang kalapik it is too late, i would like to wish everybody a Happy Kaamatan. Have a great weekend peeps and please do not drink & drive.. Aramaitii..!!
Mean while, for those Unduk Ngadau contestants vying for the prestigious huminodun title today, wishing all of you the best of luck..siapa² yang pi tingu tu, tulung kasitau result kio hehe..
