Happy Kaamatan 2008

It’s May 31 today, and it marks the end of a month long celebration of ‘Pesta Kaamatan’ state wide in Land below the Wind, Sabah. I believe many of you, not only those in Sabah but also those residing in the Peninsular Malaysia have attended a ‘Pesta Kaamatan’ celebration at least once this year. Tidak kira la peringkat kampung ka, peringkat mukim ka atau pun peringkat daerah. As for me, i've got the chance to attend the Klang Valley’s Harvest Festival celebration held in Flamingo Hotel at Jalan Ampang. But i will definitely miss the National Level ‘Harvest Festival’ to be held in Pusat Kebudayaan Penampang, Sabah..which is also the pinnacle of this month long festival.

People of Sabah are surely having a great time as 30th & 31st of May are public holidays..which means a long weekend in store for them..huh ~~jelesnya~~ bestnya.. So whatever it is you are planning to do during the long break, at least do not ever forget the essence of this unique annual cultural celebration which is to honour the Spirit of Rice, the Bambaazon or Bambarayon and to give thanks to God for yet another bountiful year.

So before ~~semua urang kalapik~~ it is too late, i would like to wish everybody a Happy Kaamatan. Have a great weekend peeps and please do not drink & drive.. Aramaitii..!!

Stacy Juara Akademi Fantasia 6.. Buli bah kalau kau!!

So the ‘jinx’ has been broken.. After Linda Nanuwil(AF2), Felix(AF3) & Lotter(AF4) came close by winning 2nd place, the long awaited dream to see a Sabahan being crowned ‘Juara Akademi Fantasia’ is finally over. Congratulation Stacy!! Congratulation to all voters!! Give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done! Congratulations!! Congratulations!! Congratulations!! Alamakk..terlebih sudah!

After enduring 10 gruelling weeks with lots of tasks and assignments, Stacy came out top, winning the 6th edition of AF in style. Winning in style indeed when she managed to gets 43% of the overall votes in the final leaving Riz a far cry second with only 19% votes. A record breaking feat not even Mawi (AF3) can match. To Simon Cowell.. this is what you called a ‘KNOCKED OUT’.. hehe.

We were there last night at the stadium to witnessed and be part of the history. Stacy’s triumph was nevertheless expected and never in doubt since day one she’s in the academy. The roar and support given by the audience in the stadium was clear evidence of it. Even though Riz FC tried hard to match it but..to no avail hehe.. ape kehe nyer yeop? The atmosphere in the arena last night was simply electrifying and awesome..i got goose bump.

I’m not going to write about the concert in details i believe most of you have watched it. Personally i really like the new songs by Riz(Hanya Sandiwara), Nubhan(Ada Untukmu) and of coz Stacy (Aku Stacy). Credit goes to all (new) composers. I bet these three songs will be a chart topper very soon. I think the opening act of Adam featuring Evoke was great as well as the introduction of ‘para pengkritik’ where they each get to sing a song.. Adlin was kewl, Ning was awesome and Ogy was..ermm.. ‘sudah kahwin kah belum’..entertaining hehe.. I lyke.

Overall, i think last night was one of the best local concert i’ve been to. The crowd, the music, the songs selection, the stage..all were great. Well done Astro..

Later after concert, we managed to catch up with Stacy to personally congratulate her. She was the centre of attention, she was the Star of the Night..an yet she is still as humble & playful as i first met her last year.. This is just the beginning.. All the best to you girl!!

AF6 Finale Concert.. Dah demam??

While most Red Devils followers are still dancing & singing celebrating their epic European Club final triumph over Chelsea and David Archuleta’s worshippers still moaning over his defeat to the other David in the fight to win the coveted American Idol 7 title, Malaysian music lovers are in for another much anticipated ‘battle’. In the local music scene there will be the Grand Finale of Akademi Fantasia-6 (AF6) comes Saturday, May 24 at the Putra Stadium, Bukit Jalil.

I’m not much of an AF followers myself but still i can’t help from being dragged in into the hype as one of the contestant in the Final is none other than our very own fellow Sabahan, Stracie Angie Anam or better known as Stacy.

Her ‘week-in week-out’ energetic & consistent performances throughout the nine weekly concerts have made her the front runner among the five finalists to be crowned as Juara Akademi Fantasia season six. And without doubt, my ~~afundi~~ votes will definitely go to Stacy. Forget about the ‘same state’ sentiments, but me voting her is solely base on true talent & the great potential she got in her, as far as Malaysian music industry is concerned.

So enuff said, get your ticket now and come & join us..

Best of the best..

The time has come..The biggest match of the season to marks the end of all Europe’s soccer league competitions.. The English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga, French Ligue 1, Scottish Premier League, Dutch Eradivisie & Portuguese Liga. Ironically, the two clubs come out top among all are from the English Premier League, Man Utd & Chelsea. The best team from the best soccer league in Europe, if not in the world.

So are you as excited as i am right now? For those football followers out there, i bet you are too. If you are planning to catch the match Live..make sure to get enough rest tonight as the ‘battle of the titans’ will be aired live on TV at 2.45am wee hour tomorrow morning. As for myself, I’m not sure if i can hit the sack early tonight as i wouldn’t want to miss another battle, the ‘battle of the Davids’ to become the 7th American Idol..huhuhu which i most likely can only watch the 8pm repeat show. So just in case(touch wood).. somebody please wake me up at 2.45am okay..pleaseeeeeeee... :D

"first of all, tahniah buat players sabahrhinos.com klang valley...for info, this friendly was held in two hours thats why byk score...yg paling boring score team lelaki sama perempuan dorg campur sekali...klu mengikut perkiraan kami, team lelaki sr.com kv berjaya mengalahkan era.fc 19-17...bukan mo salahkan the ladies team but most of them mmg nda pernah sepak bola somemore main futsal compare to era fc yg every wednesday against their guys counterpart...on the other hand, team era fc (lelaki) pun bukan calang2...dorg ada 19 players compared to ours 9 ...main 5 sets, 15 mins each set...bukan mo cari excuse kekalahan but that is the fact...nda pa it was fun to play with them...and guest what, a rematch will take place within this month...hehehe"

"last night friendly was actually our best so far...it was really fun despite of the result which we lost 26-20...I know many friends in KK and even KL follow up on or accidentally heard the result, well sorry to dissapoint you guys...many of us were not all out (kekekek alasan)...furthermore, ada few key players yg distructed by the presence of Nana af1, DJ Aimie as well as few other beautiful ladies playing for Era and guest players to sr.com kv...once again, the guys punya result is sabahrhinos.com kv 19 -17 era fc...our ladies yg some of them never play futsal pulak were trashed 9-1 ...but its orite since that is their first game playing as a team...masing2 nda kenal each other and masing2 nda da position...it was not really organise bah...anyway, give them a big clap for the fighting spirit...guys team, you are superb...just imagine kita cuma 9 org vs the 19 man Era fc...and yet we still come out winners...it shows that we have imporve from match to match...no training lagi bah kan kekeke...can see few faces yg puncit mcm si Ukaulili yg masih bau tapai (baru balik bersuti di kpg)...dia punya "bullet" dua kali saja malatup...but maybe dia punya Ukau_Gurl nda da bah buat dia kurang semangat...I will make sure after this, kita mesti ada at least 1 friendly match every week to maintain our fitness...to Era FC thks for being very sporting...thks a lot for the gifts...a big appreciation also to Radio Era punya bos, Mr brian for launching Sabahrhinos.com klang valley punya banner...until the next match..."
