OK, let’s not talk Phuket for now. Take a break..
This one is about my trip (with colleague) to Sagil waterfall last weekend, which is located at the base of the infamous Gunung Ledang (1276m) in Tangkak, Johor. It was said to be the home of the legendary Puteri Gunung Ledang, a woman who captured the heart of the Sultan of Malacca.
It takes us about an hour driving from Melaka before we reach Gunung Ledang Resort. Reached there around 1pm, parked our car at designated car park just outside the resort and start trekking uphill to the waterfall. The green scenery, the fresh air and the sounds of water rushing down from the top were simply awesome, refreshing & relaxing. Very relaxing indeed the 30 minutes climb feels like only 5 minutes. This is what i really really need to ‘revitalize’ my energy after weeks of hard work at office. I love Mother Nature!! Owyess!!
If the views along the way were awesome, the view at the top was simply breathtaking. Tranquil and peaceful environment at the top, added with clean and refreshing waters, one cannot help but to jump right away into the water upon reaching there hahaha...
Since there were quite a number of people at the top cascade (this waterfall got many cascades @ air terjun bertingkat²), we retreated a cascade below to get ourselves a perfect ‘landing’ spot where we can get better privacy and better views.
We spent a good 2 hours at the waterfall before receded back to the base. We reached Melaka around 6pm, feeling rejuvenated and happy. I stayed overnight at my colleague’s house before going back to KL the next day. Overall, my weekend ‘breakaway’ from the city was indeed satisfactory..to the Max!
As usual, here are photos to share with you guys. Cheers..!!

This is my colleague's house in Kg Bukit Rambai, Melaka.
This was taken on Saturday morning shortly before we depart to Sagil waterfall.

Rambutan tree just outside the house.

I was caught in the act trying to 'steal' some

Welcome to Ledang

We stop by at Tangkak town to buy some drinking water.
The picture shows a row of old shops..well maintained though.

At the base of Gunung Ledang.

Let's the trekking begin

The trail leading to the jungle

Camping area

Its starting to go uphill from here onward

If you are too lazy to climb up you can choose
to settle down at the many lower cascades.
It is not that bad afterall..

Half way thru the journey up..

The stairs are a bit steep and i need to be extra careful
since i am not wearing my proper trekking shoes..plus,
it can be a bit torturing if you are not physically & mentally fit hehe..

Cam-whoring along the way

Few minutes before reaching the top

I was speechless when i first saw the waterfall.
Don't you think it's wonderful?

Looking down..few cascades below.
Cool? Scary? Hahaha..

Visitors are only allowed up to this point.
To climb further up you MUST have a guide.
It takes about 4 hours to reach the top of Gunung Ledang.

At this point of time..
I was so tempted to dive into the water haha..

And that was exactly what i did right after that

Sooo...refreshing!!

I think i can sit here FOREVER, hahaha..

We were at the top just now,
a bit too crowded

Feel cold after a while..
Sun bathing haha..

Two Johorian shared the same spot with us

Feel good..it's time to go

On the way down

You don't see this in KL City

One for the pic

On the way back to the car park

The WELCOME sign near the entrance.
Hope to be back here again next time.

Upon reaching Melaka, we went
to get ourselves some rambutan

Later on, we tour the village on a motorbike

Riding thru the paddy fields

On the way back home.
Later on that night we went to Melaka town to eat 'Satay Celup' and to Jonker Street night market. Will blog about that in future (if got time..hehe).
Till then... Happy Friday (8.8.08) and have a great weekend ahead!
